We meet twice on Sunday for worship. You are very welcome to join us for either service, or both!
We meet on Sunday mornings at 11am, and in the evenings at 6:30pm. Both services last for approximately 1 hour, with time for tea and a chat afterwards.
Christian services usually involve singing: it's a great way to worship God together and to remind ourselves of what we believe. We recognise that this might be daunting for newcomers so please don't be put off or feel pressure to join in! We usually sing 3 or 4 songs throughout the service.
There will usually be one or two prayers and a Bible reading (Bibles are provided), and then the speaker will explain the reading and teach for 20-30 minutes.
In the morning we have a Sunday school for primary school aged children. The children leave the main service after 20 minutes or so, and the Sunday school happens in an adjacent room. But children are also welcome to stay with their parents if this is preferable.
We usually have a 5 minute talk for all children in the first part of the morning service.
On Tuesdays during the school term, we open the church after school for anyone to come in and enjoy a snack and a chat. Everyone is welcome! Our aim is to get to know our local community, and for folks to feel welcome in the church building. We are open between 3:15 and 4:15pm. Why not drop in and meet us?
Praying for one another and our community is a key part of following Jesus. Currently we meet to pray on Wednesdays at 7:30pm in one of our homes. We spend some time in discussion and sharing issues for prayer, before bringing these issues to God.
Little Stars is a group for parents/guardians and their little ones! We provide a safe space for babies and toddlers to have fun, and a haven for parents to enjoy some coffee and chats... and maybe cake 😋!
Little Stars runs at the church from 9am to 11am each Friday during school term. There is no charge, just pop in for a visit! We'd love to meet you.
B4T Club is for primary school aged children, and runs on Fridays from 3:30 to 4:45pm during term time. There is no charge, but we do ask parents to complete a consent form. Parents are welcome to stay throughout, but there is no expectation to do so.
Typically, we begin with a drink and a snack. We play games, do some craft or build Lego, and learn simple Bible truths through a story and a memory verse. Children can earn badges through learning and positive behaviour.
Sometimes we take the children offsite (e.g. to the park) but we will always inform parents and ask for permission in advance.
The club happens before teatime... so the name means 'Before Tea'!
Every Easter, we put on a club with an exciting theme and plenty to do for children at primary school.
This year our theme is medieval - knights, castles, dragons, princes and princesses! Our crafts, games, challenges and story will all be connected to this theme.
The Grand Tournament will take place on the 9th, 10th and 11th of April, from 10am to 12 noon.
To book in, send us an email at leightonroadchurch@gmail.com, or drop in and see us after school on Tuesdays or Fridays.
This annual event is happening at Red House Farm, a camp centre near Stowmarket run by the Faith Mission.
Enjoy a full English breakfast as we celebrate the meaning of Easter, and for children there will be games and an Easter egg hunt!
Saturday 19th April - 10am.
Book online at fmredhousefarm.com, or email stephen.walker@faithmission.org
Our Easter Sunday morning service at 11am (20th of April) will be a family service followed by a buffet lunch. Bring something to share, or just bring your family! We'd love you to join in our Easter celebration.
